Glad to hear it Steve,

BUT

Are you sure this time???

Hopefully it won't have to come apart again for a VERY long time.

I gather that Honda paid for everything that you needed... plus compensation I would hope (Probably not though)...

At leased you know how to do it now incase anyone else wants one done...lol

Talk soon

Adrian

Well done Steve - we should all know an EXPERT!!

When I got my Type R the salesman told me about a guy who took delivery of one a few weeks previous. Seems he blew it up on the way home. He went back to the dealer and they replaced it, assuming something had failed.

A couple of weeks later ... the same thing happened! This time Honda UK said they wanted to check it out and interrogate the black box (management system to us!).

they found that he'd red-lined it in 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 and having reached 6,700 in 5th, he'd promptly changed down to ... 2nd!

The system told them the engine got to 23,000 rpm (really?) and, well, it sort of broke.

He's having to stump up for it, and he's lucky he didn't get charged for the first one too.

I wonder if they told me about that as some kind of warning .....?

Sooooo what you are saying is that with a bit of work we can red line our Type Rs at 21,000?
