Hey people,

I live in the States, and want a beat for car shows etc.. They seem to be reasonable in price i.e. 3-4k USD. I was wondering about importing the car, if anyone here has some advice/experience on doing so, or is willing to help me with the process since I can't be physically in the UK.

Thanks in advance,

Sean :help:

Hi Sean,

To be honest, I think you will struggle to get one into the US...

Honda did bring one into the country shortly after it was launched but after the display period they specified ended, customs told them, either export it or it gets destroyed...

Have a read of this article, it's about the car and the last trip id did across America before being exported...

http://homepage.powerup.com.au/~alita/beat/Automobile.htm

Might pay to print it off to read, font is a bit small on my screen...lol (can't be bothered to change resolution)

Although, if you plan to trailer it to the shows, I think you might get away with it... I'd try to have a word with a few people on the show scene over there and ask them what they did to get the car into the country.

I've also got an FTO, and several people from the US have asked on that forum about getting one into the country, and it doesn't look like it would pass the tests that they have to go through to get in... I doubt if the beat would pass either, especially any crash tests they would simulate due to it's size.

Hope this helps

Any other questions, just ask away.

Ady.

I seem to recall that u-ukhbc member 'owensexport' is a US Beat owner. Is he still? Worth a try, perhaps, Reverend.

Ooh, I forgot about him...:suicide:

Yep, would be worth dropping him a line and see what he says about things.
