Hello everyone.

We have been having a spot of bovver with our beat. The cam belt went and we had the top end of the engine rebuilt, that all went fine - But 2 days later the engine just cut out, we would wait a while and it would run for a bit then stop again. I have had it into a tuning bay for the last week and they said that they believe that the ECU may be faulty as there are signals out to the coil to fire when there is not signal in.This has burnt out the coil. Does anyone have experience of this? Does anyone know where we can get the ECU checked out cheaply?:suicide: I have read about the main relay over heating but this is happening from cold.:help:

Any advice or help would be welcome.

Thanx

Paul

I have known ecu's to give troubles but not non start problems only idle/mixture problems.

Main relays can give problems when cold as well as hot, just depends on conditions in the relay it self etc.

I have 2 faulty ECU's, but have been unable to find anyone prepared to look at them/repair them.

A new ECU will cost you £600, a Fual/Main relay £50
