Well the Beat went for it's MOT today,

and the result is..... It Passed...:bounce: :bounce:

Mind you, it's only done 6500 miles since the last one so I had hoped it was going to pass anyway...

The emission levels were as follows,

CO: 0.05% vol
HC: 147ppm vol

So with those levels I think I can say that the engine is in pretty good condition...

Now all I need to do is get it to rev properly and everything will be fine (except for the roof... )

Wow- good emissions!!!!!!!!! mine were
HC 531ppm and 0.83vol% (with a dodgy cat)
Thats before the rubuild, but still what a difference!
Your engine and cat must be in good working order!

About that rev restriction problem.. have you tried the throttle opening angle sensor, the way i understand it it plays a role in the amount of fuel delivered to the engine because of how the MTREC ststem works. if you got a chance maybe it would be worth your while swoping it with a known good sensor and a known good map sensor to see if that sorts it out. it could be the answer to the problem and would only take a few minutes. Maybe im totally wrong i just thought id mention it since you seem to have tried everything else!

Hope you get it sorted soon- theres nothing like the sound of 9000RPM :D

Ta for the suggestions John,

'When' me and Steve get together again, I'll see what we can do about trying a few bits...
