Hi,
Our beat is still at the garage, having replaced the dizz, camshaft, cam belt and seals, it was not making compression, and the garage thought that the valves may be bent....this was not the case, however, it needed new piston rings.

The engine is now rebuilt and fitted, but the garage cannot find out how to reset the ecu as several warning lights are still showing?

Until this is resolved, they cannot check the car!

Any help would be appreciated, as at the moment they are waiting to here from Honda Japan.

Thanks:confused:

Honda Japan calling!

Did you get all that (I'd end up doing at work anyway so....)

1. take the + terminal off the battery for over 20 secs the ECU will reset
2. return the + terminal
3. With no load on the engine AC etc. off start the engine
4. Check the rpm. standard 1200 prm + or - 50 rpm
5. After turning the engine OFF, turn the AC and the fan on full blast (III) and start the car again.
6. If the rpm is the same as mentioned in 4. then the reset is complete.

Cheers!

Remove the ECU fuse from the engine bay fusebox for 10+ secs.

But I expect if they have had the ebgine out they would have had the battery disconnected anyway, so its more than likely they have either forgotton to connect a sensor or damaged one in the process, causing the light to come on and stay on.

Therefore they need to do a diagnostic check using the Service Check connector, bridge it and count the flash codes on the check engine light with the ignition turned on.
