I dont see how they improve the performance of the engine, I thought the idea was to get cold air into the engine these trumpets must pull in hot air from around the engine unless air scoops are cut into the rear boot lid .

Any images or fitting instructions for these trumpets please ??
There are 2 types around. The more expensive ones (if you can find them) are individual and just push into place. I bought a cheaper unit, new, that has the three horns (70 mm length) welded to a plate that gets fixed with an existing bolt. Not hard to fit. It was a pretty crude thing though and I did a lot of smoothing first. It's thin aluminum and I worry about corrosion, but it seems to add some push above 7000 rpm
if you have the individual ones, warm the car up first, then turn off, remove the airbox and gently tap them in using a rubber mallet - but mind your hands on hot things! Attachment 2320
Thanks Folks , so i did do it right and also used a new filter , i can definatly say it sounds much nicer ,but as someone who isnt mechanically minded can someone explain to me what these trumpets are supposed to do and how that works . Mine are the individual ones .
Cheers
