The 'How To...' Guide

This section is for posting of How To guides for common beat jobs.

Once a guide is in place, please don't post any questions in the thread. If you need help, please post in the normal forum. If we think that you are not the only person likely to ask that question then we will edit the guide!

please DO post tips and anything helpful in the same thread, and these will get incorporated into the guide.
