backfiring

Sometimes I get a bit of a backfire when I change gears, usually from 2nd to 3rd. Any suggestions from anyone? Thanx.

Most likely timing is off

Maybe just checking the basics like the spark plugs? perhaps? :confused:

Possibilities i can think of, but with out looking could be a lot of things.

ECU Capacitor failures causing overfueling.
cracked distributor cap.
