My beat has just landed, only to find the speedometer doesn't work... Is there a common point of failure for these? I'm assuming it'll have a geared sensor in the gearbox somewhere, or perhaps a dry solder joint?

Usually corroded grounding screws on the printed circuit board inside the speedo/tacho
