Many thanks Mike. I'll get on it tomorrow.

My catalyst heat light comes on intermittently, even when cold. Car is running fine. I suspect the sensor in the cat, so where can I conveniently disconnect the lead? The armored cable seems to pass...
You can usually find non-working units on Japan Yahoo auctions.
Of course I meant in common with other cars, not with each other.
I'd be very surprised if they were not a common design.

Grilled pigeon! Wow, all the decomposition products sure cleaned the copper. It must have smelled a bit off though.
Hayabusa engine transplant, power trunk release... Is there anything you won't try?

But the number of Beats in the US is still much less than in the UK. Restrictive laws, and disdain for small things in general and small cars in particular would seem to top the list of...
Brilliant job! But I hope I never need to use this guide because I'm tired out just from reading it.'

Would someone kindly remind me how to remove the instrument cluster? I vaguely recall some bolts that had to be undone below the steering column cover, but now I can't find them. I'm 5 years older...
Nice job, even if not 100% tidy.
Thanks Bomberman. I will get around to removing the cluster now the weather is cooling. Yesterday I had the rather unpleasant surprise of learning that the needle also sticks in the high direction....
OK, and mine too. After 6 years of instant starting with no throttle, I now endure a moment of panic that then subsides after I pump the throttle a few times and try again. It starts up and runs fine...

I had the cluster out once to swap all the lamps with LEDs and I remember it was difficult to get the mounting bolts lined up when I replaced it. Maybe I'll wait until it gets cooler, and by that...

These are just a little dusty, only used a few days. Check what they sell for on Yahoo.jp. I can send them surface mail for 3000 yen to UK. If interested make an offer.

You need the originals or something generic? There are lots of vendors on Japhoo, and I have a spare set (black) I could part with.
My tach needle only drops to 1500 now but can be "tapped" back to normal idle speed. Just started doing it suddenly today but we've had exceptional high humidity the last few weeks and I see a little...
My pretty new radiator.....
I thought it would be lighter than the OEM but that weighs next to nothing, and with the much larger coolant capacity of the new one, I probably gained a pound or two....
I haven't had to do much to my Beat in the 6 years I've driven it, so maybe my mechanical chops are rusty and the toolbox a bit sparse. I bought a lovely aluminum radiator and assumed (based on other...
Right - forgot about that....
True, if you live in a cool climate like the UK you might not want to go to the expense of fixing it.
Like all automotive a/c on small cars, you can feel the power loss especially at low revs....
Pretty deprived up there? Have you looked in all of the 4000 holes?
