I think you'll find it's the off-side mirror that used to be yellow! I think I gave you the old broken one Latham, but I may still have it around somewhere.

When I had it my Beat had a muschroom filter fitted directly to the front of the airbox on a metal plate. Can't imagine it did much for airflow, but sounded great.
There is a E07Z turbo engine swap on Minkara somewhere. I doubt it would make the Beat any more powerful (might be more drivable) as it aready seems to be tuned to the high rev range, unless you...
Oh well, there goes my status as the youngest Beat owner in the UK. :p
Looks like a great example though, and the Beat does look nice in white!
Did you say you had a water pump?
Quick bump just to find out what other people have done about their oil problems.
They can't weigh more than 10kg, so not a lot. Mine has been out since I owned it, would refit them but don't see the point.
For fixing the whole oil problem, what would people suggest is the best way of going about it? I'm half tempted to go down the complete engine rebuild/overhaul route but the car has only done 50k km...
A list of parts and part numbers would be great. Presumably oversized pistons are the best bet to solving my oil problem?
I've managed to source a water-pump for £50, so that's fine.
The prices...
I might get the engine out for new piston rings, presumably it's a bit easier then. Still, it's going to be a fortune, might have to take her off the roads for a year or so till I can afford to do...
Apparently the water pum on my beat has gone so I'll need a replacement. :suicide:
Does anyone know how complicated the pump replacement is?
Hi Graham, I'm actually in a similar position to you where before I started on this project I knew very little about anything to do with HV systems. The EV in question is actually our car for Formula...
Actually it varies from motor to motor; the thing about electric motors is that they can generate torque from a standstill so you don't need a clutch to start moving. They also tend to have a very...
I don't really understand the 10KW part of the battery pack. Do you mean 10KWh? Also, what is the expected final kerb weight? I'm guessing if you have a 500kg shell with 50kg for the motor you might...
I've done the same myself except I found it sitting in the recess between the battery and the fuse box where I had left it - was lucky on that one that it didn't slip off!
Probably worth asking at...
Personally I use a 2l water bottle, has the other advantage that I will always have some water in my car if I get thirsty.
Technically you should unzip the rear window anyway. :D
Personally I'm thinking:
Rip out my broken Bass Speaker
Raspberry Pi where speaker used to be
Find/make some modules for Bluetooth, Radio and Audio In
Possibly a small HDD
Possibly some...
I'm quite tempted to try and fit a car PC instead. Would potentially be cheaper as well.
EDIT: Does anyone know some rough dimensions for the Gathers units? I don't have my Beat here with me atm...
There is an earthing point in front of the gearstick somewhere. I can't remember how far forwards it is though; I think it's just under the Gather's unit.
You might be able to get at it by...
Nice driving, looks like you're getting the most out fo the car there!
They're not far from me, although I doubt I'll have time to go down and see them until July at the earliest.
Would there be anyone else interested in dial faces from them in case I can get them...
I wouldn't mind an MPH plate, although I have no idea how to remove it (seems to be torx screws at the back) and exchanging the whole cluster seems excessive. My plate also has a bit of paper stuck...
It seems much more like an analogue component failing than a digital one. It should have had the capacitors replaced already but I might check.
Yeah, mine pops on occasionally, sometimes sort of flickers. I always thought it might be the lambda sensor but never got round to replacing it. Probably worth doing as I imagine it's not doing the...
