The Beat began production in May 1991, and finished production in February 1996. The total number of cars produced was around 33,600. Most of the production (around 2/3) occurred in the first year,...
Agreed, my only concern is the almost zero availablity of replacement EO7A engines here in the UK.
All I need to find now is someone who can import them from Japan were they and the newer EO7's...
Sounds reasonable for a complete system on a Honda…
Yes, but does it do 0-60 sub 5 seconds :)
Nice!!!!

:D
Why not the B16? I don't think 160+BHP in a Beat is going to be a daily driver…
One engine I am looking into is the SMART engines, they are very similar in layout to the Beats EO7A, (Slant 3...
I've got a Japanese article on a Beat with a B16, it's a squeeze but it does fit… and goes like hell! Even a basic B16 chucks out 160BHP. Cable tx is no problem with a B16. Personally, I think the...
Have you got a link to your Beat?
As regards to price, I would regard £2,000 as my top wack for a Beat. As has been posted, they are now old cars and will need expensive work as a matter of course.
As I see it, the problem with tuning a Beat is going to be that both parts and engines if you blow one are effectively unavailable short of buying new from Honda… big money. Although the engines are...
Example of my MB woes…
I bought a new V230… the ECU controlling the automatic gearbox kept freaking out and putting the gearbox into 'emergency mode'… 30mph max. Eventually they agreed to replace...
I find Alan Day's down here in Portsmouth a model of how a dealer should treat it's customers. Always courteous and treat me with total respect… and willing to go the extra mile to sort a problem.
Don't be! I'm a convert to Honda after assorted Mercedes ownership. Mercedes parts took up to 2 weeks to arrive and service with a scowl. Anything I've needed for the wifes HR-V has arrived next day...
The Japanese site seems to be the OEM and their products are available in the UK so I imagine it would be possible to order the belts from one of the performance shops. Looks like I'll be getting...
Aha! Kevlar belts for a Beat!

Ah bugger…
Being as how the Beat is known for it's cambelt problems, (heat cracking is going to be a factor in a mid engined car apart from the seizing dizzies), does a B/D 16 cambelt fit?
Cost about £70

I agree, I told the broker I can only drive one car at a time and got some whine about 'the extra risk'… hmmmm:confused:
I'll be looking around for some 'multicar' or introductory bonus type deal
Oh I dunno so much! You get Integras, we don't…:(
You get different engines 'over there':) We still get the 2.0l with lots of teeth. IIRC, US cars are detuned to run on 91 Octane and they upped the engine size to make up for the performance loss.

Swinton just quoted me £328 FC with no NCB, (My full NCB is tied up on my HR-V)
So are you giving up on Beats or just want a Beat on steroids?:)
