Done.
Thank you for this site.
Invaluable for all beat owners.
I believe I have what you are looking for. I shall double check it doesn't have an airbag but I'm pretty sure it does not have.
I'm game. Count me in

Send him a heads up re the ECU and then post it to him. Quick turnaround.
I bought one from those guys with the glass window and it is really nice. Removed the old hood then used it as a template to punch holes in the new one. Fitting it was ok tbh.
We have a runner people!!! The ECU doctor in Plymouth has returned the ECU, I've put everything back together and it runs lovely.
I'm £193 worse off, but driving with a smile tonight in the Spring...
That sounds great! I can swap them about and ferry you to work if needs be.
Superb Nige. Cheers for the advice, I'll give it a go.
No, will do though. Cheers.
Good news / bad news. I have checked the fuel pump and it seems to be working fine, but it still won't start.
Any more ideas appreciated please. :(
Not sure which one you're after tbh but one just turned up on PP1 lovers on facebook. Latham Papworth.
There is a 50 / 50 chance I may be driving over to my brothers place in France from Leeds via the chunnel. I bought a set of side skirts for my beat from a forum member and I think they make a world...
Cheers people. I'll give it a go.
Removed the fuel supply to the injector rail and turned the ignition. No fuel issued. ECU fault? If so any pointers what to do next please?
I checked the three blade fuses in the rear and they are all good. I will check everything else you have mentioned.
Seventynine, I didn't intentionally ignore your advice re the injectors, I just...
The relay clicks as it should.
Never assume I've done anything like that old uns!!! I'm a complete novice when it comes to internal combustion engine thingy!
I'll give it a listen, Cheers.
Removed injectors and turned the engine over, no fuel issuing from them. So I'm guessing it may be faulty repair or component on the ECU?
Opinions, and what to do next please people?
Dave
Top man Stu,
I'll give it a go and get back to you.
No Beat owners near to me now that I know of to be honest.

Hi, I have a back box that is in fairly decent condition. It has surface rust but is solid and has no holes. I bought a stainless exhaust last summer, that is the reason why I replaced it.
I have...
Pull an injector eh? Lol.
I may add that I am an absolute novice when it comes to engines.
I have removed the plastic injector cover to expose the wiring loom. What next?
Knowledge.
Sorry for my ignorance before I start.
Had the capacitors and a small section of track repaired. Replaced the ECU. Nothing. Engine turns over but will not fire up.
Removed a plug and...
Cheers for the info and support people. I am going in for another attempt. Will keep you all posted.
Yes I saw the ebay ECU. I'd rather try Honda for a new one at £500 than risk my money on that one.
I have taken a day or two off from the ECU to relax a little. Yes I know they have polarity, and I...
