    17 year old and insurance!

I'm sure there must be some younger owners out there- I need some help.

Son coming up to 17 and I want a toy - no, that's wrong- I need an excuse to buy a beat and he is my best bet!

Who will insure ? who are the specialists? who do I try now for insurance as all of the mainstream companies are a pain to deal with!

I've spent 2 days trying to get web quotes and haven't got anywhere at all

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi there,

I'm insured with Tesco, I haven't been driving a year yet and they gave us a pretty low quote. They were the only company that seemd to - tried my previous company CIS and they didn't even know the Beat existed.

HOWEVER! The catch...nowhere would insure me on my own so I had to be insured as a named driver on my mums insurance. Could be a good idea.

I know WhiteLeopard on here is also 19 and I think she's with tesco too. She could shed some more light?

    Hope I could help

    Cool Endsleigh

Try Endsleigh insurance (though Tottenham Web Site)
    Discount for Spurs supporters.
Better go for 3rd party fire and theft, to cut costs

They insured me and I live in Northern Ireland where apparently we don't matter when it comes to insurance!!

Screw Tescos they are happy to take my weekly shop but not insure drivers from N.I.

    Rant over......

I had a lot of trouble getting any insurance for myself, Tesco's was the ONLY company out of about 40 that I tried that would even offer me insurance.

Was £1,300 with 0NCB, third party fire and theft, I would guess that to put your son on his own insurance would be something similar to £2,500 I would think. Have you asked your own insurance company how much it would be to insure yourself on a beat, then have your son as a named driver? It's the best thing I can recommend... good luck

    beat insurance

    Hi all

Try Adrianflux - also Allen and Allen. They fixed me up even tho I was coming from Oz and had all kinds of special requirements.
Perhaps its because I'm pretty ancient, but I thought their quote quite reasonable in the circumstances and they are quite familiar with beats. Hope this helps.
