What wheel and tyre size combination are people using?

I'm contemplating getting some alloys and wondered what the best size would be!

    Cool Allies

Paul - we have a set of Compomotive alloys fitted to my wife's car, 14" all round - you don't need to keep the 13" front size, although it's possible to get two 13" and two 14" wheels from some suppliers. In our case, tyres are 165x60x14 and you get a wider choice in that size. Spacers are needed to help stop the tyres foul the arches etc. but these work fine and are no trouble.

    Hi Paul,

I have gone for the normal 13" front and 14" rears but I have gone slightly wider though.

I've also kept the std. size tyres although the rears only just go on the alloys due to the width I went for.

I've gone for the same style front and rear but they do look slightly different due to being different sizes since the centres are almost the same size on both ends...

    Hope this helps

So forgive the dumb question please guys - I can get 14's all round and still motor away?

What was putting me off getting new alloys was that no dealer here was willing to sell me 2 half sets!

    Regards

    Thumbs up Wheelz

Dave - yesy you can fit 14" to the front. As long as the overall diameter of the wheel with tyre is the same it's OK. The 13" wheel wears a higher profile tyre than the 14" hence - same diameter. However, tyre width will increase so spacers may be needed.

You'll probably still have to have 2 half sets as the offsets or pitch (i cant remember which) is different for each axle

    Wheel offsets

    Hi all,

The front wheel offset is ET35 and the rear offset is ET45.

Does that mean that if I was to put 14" wheels on the front, I would have to use 10mm spacers?

How do you work it out?
