Most bucket seats are too wide for my beat, any idea where I can get seats that fir at a reasonable price?

cobra clubman and roadster 7 seats fit both the drivers and passenger sides. ive got the roadster 7's (very similar shape to the original seats) in both sides of my car and altho the passenger side is a snug fit they go in fine. i wouldnt recommend them if you're very tall tho as they are deeper than the originals.
one thing you would need is some converter plates for the existing rails to fit the brand of seat you want to use. you can get them from japhoo ( i have a spare passenger side one if you need one), or you can make your own if you have the facilities - think its a pretty simple job.

feels also make a seat that fits both sides - bazza on here would be the man to speak to about them, but they are pretty hexpensive...
    hth!

I bought some that were 19" across and they fit fine, well the passengerside is bit snug you have to slam the door. So maybe ask a trader if they do 18" wide seats.

We made a plate out of JCB armour plating and fitted the seat to that, then the original rails to the plate. Works perfectly, they even slide back and forth.

I did the same thing to install my old MOMO acropolis Carbon/Kevlar seat and it fit well, plenty of space left and worked great! I now have a Recaro Profi SPG which is even smaller.

Hi and sorry for hijacking the thread but all I have are bad pictures of the momo seat in the car from last summer...
I had two of these seats, each being the drivers seat in my beat and my GTI-R, but I had to pull them out to put in my civic rally car. (You can go see the car at www.doubleorallyteam.com )
So i bought a Recaro this winter and put the seat side mounts to the metal frame i fabricated for the momo but when I took the car out of storage, I put the stock seat in last week since I brought the Car for a much needed paint job(as you can tell from the pics) this week-end but i'll try to have pics for you guys for next week.

Here's a look at my car with the recaro and how I set it up using aluminium plates, the stock seat rails and bucket seat side mounts:
