Thanks Steve,I must try another agent,as my local quoted £188+vat.Can you think of any other reason for code 9,as I'm getting 0.5 to 0.7v ac with 750 0hms.Cheers Dave.
Hi , i was having huge trouble sorting codes ( 3 - 7 - 9 ) . I sent the ecu away and had it fixed the problem was ,
"
I've found the fault, it seems that one of the original capacitors in the power supply for the tps and map sensor has leaked and corroded some of the circuit board.
I've bypassed the faulty part of the circuit and now all checks out.
Also I've had a look at the trace for the cyl sensor and it seems fine, so I suspect that may be an old code or caused by poor running. "
This might be of some help to you .
BRIAN .
Ignition timing and distributor timing is critical.
Make sure it is spot on, especially before condemning the actual sensor.
I've never experienced ECU capacitors causing code 9, but may be worth a look inside ECU just in case
Code 9 is really all about the synchronisation of Tdc and no1 cyl signals normally
