    aftermarket radio?

Our Beat hasn't got the Gathers radio..
When we bought the Beat someone put a din/CD radio in it, but it is not relly done well and the radio doesnt fit well.

How do you get an aftermarket radio in and what kind? Also CD?

    Like to see some pics

    Thanx!

The most common option is to modify the original enclosure and fit a DIN standard radio. It can look very nice if done well - Marcair posted some photos last year. If you are not handy with fibreglass you can buy one readymade for about 20,000 yen (without any electronics) on Japhoo.

But don't give up on Gathers! When it works even the 40-watt unit provides good sound and looks cute, and the Addzest CD changer is also good and available cheap. Even the cassette mechanism works well. Repairs usually involve changing out a few capacitors unless someone has buggered some other part.

I was going to go the aftermarket route and even bought a second enclosure piece to modify, but I'm glad I stuck with the Gathers. There are usually a few for sale on Japhoo on any day.
