New BEAT owner need help with the AC Compressor

    Hi everyone

I am new beat owner (Version Z) I think.
salvaged it from the back of an old garage and I am trying to fix the poor thing. Its in a very bad condition so I gave myself a nice project.
The bad thing I am located in Cyprus the good about that is the sunny weather for the top down. Unfortunately though the sun is unbearable in the summer so the AC is a must
just brought the car back from a garage and they said that I need to get my hands on a new Compressor need some help with anyone that has one....OR is there an alternative that I can use from another Honda model ?????

    Thanks everyone

I would question why the garage says you need a new compressor?

Could just be it needs a new coil pack or pulley hub bearing?

The compressor does have a Beat specific part number, but would most likely be just a Denso compressor.

Is your Version Z a 110 chassis? VIN is PP1-110**** etc.

They change to being an R134 system over the earlier R12 ones, so that may affect your source of parts.

Hi Steve thanks for the info

My chassis is the PP1-100 version
will go down and have a word with them
the only thing that I have that specifies it being a Version Z is the Black dials and the it being painted Green (reminds me of the British racing green) whats left of the paint that is ...... so I hope its a version Z Z ....the original alloys are gone unfortunately
Any insight as to how I can be certain of the version will help a lot

There are 2 versions of Version Z.

    a PP1-100 chassis and a PP1-110 chassis

PP1-100 is mechanically identical to other Beat, just with the addition of the rear spoiler, Pepperpot alloys, black dials and either silver / green paint.

PP1-110 had many mechanical changes including R134 A/C, option: ABS, LSD

Just checking your VIN will tell you.

    Dear Steve

Do you have a Vin database for the Beat... if so can I sent you my Vin number and tell me what I actually have.
I am starting to believe its just a normal beat with some cosmetic changes

    thanks

From the VIN your car is a Version Z (100)

    (G80M) Everglade green metallic.

    Engine number 6032007

It should have had the factory alloys and spoiler also front and rear mudflaps.

Looks as if its had some paint work on that rear quarter on the R/H side. (Beat sticker is fitted too high to be original)

Any evidence inside the boot that the spoiler may have been fitted at some point?

WOW thanks Steve that's a complete report

You are right there are sighs were a spoiler was supposed to be fitted plus there is a dent on the boot that I am guessing was the death sentence for it.
I will re paint the whole car in the original colour...I am hoping that it will be stripped down for any sighs of rust that I cant see to be fixed and patched up... there already sighs of corrosion.....
