    Starting problem

So i went out to start the car this morning and it wouldnt start , i used my jump start pack and it started first time no problem , i drove it to work
which is about a 10 minute drive , no lights radio etc on , and when i parked i waited about 10 seconds to restart it and same thing , another jump start and i drove home the long way round about 20 mins drive and same thing , i can hear fuel pump prime and the click , so im thinking alternator , any ideas ??
If it is the alternator please tell me its an easy part to get to and easy fix

Alternator, Battery, starter or a connection.

Id probably put my money on battery not accepting a charge, as if it was alternator not charging, it wouldnt run for long before the battery drained from that initial jump box power.

Worth checking what the charge rate is with engine running across the battery with a multimeter, expect between 13.5 to 15 volts.

The battery is less than a year old so should be good , ive given all terminals a good clean and left it on trickle for a couple of hours and it started fine . ill head down to mechanics shortly and report back

FRT for alternator is an hour, its not a particularly difficult job, just like most jobs in a Beat engine bay, access is not great.

Your biggest problem would be finding a new alternator, a genuine one from Honda is discontinued, so you would need to look to the after market or a specialist repair of your one it thats the problem, or I suppose a used one, but then as useual with used parts, what are you getting!! it could be as bad as the one you have.

First off , thanks for the replies , but as you suspected it was just the battery , which is 9 months old , it was a Halfords battery , but after a bit of a row because I had no receipt they agreed to change it under warranty , all back Working now .
