    The Beat Hardtop Guide

Not many will find the need or want for one but this may be useful to some and possibly an insight for others.

Let's start with the hardtops that can keep the softop Mugen and that is about it, every other hardtop requires soft top to be removed.

    Mugen looks like this

Feels the one Tado has looks like this

Prices vary but from most expensive it goes

    Ade Reid
    Mugen
    Backyard / PSi 26 /Studo Liberta
    Feels
    RS-Mach
    Kimura Jidousha
    US Racing

There are a few more out there but are not big producers but styles are based on the Feels / Studio Liberta ones having recently imported one for myself, I feel I can offer advice to any owners in the UK/Europe that are looking to buy one but would like help arranging it all.

I will say it now to avoid disappointment you will be lucky to get one for under £1400 delivered that's not new but second hand, delivery in itself is £570-600 depending on exchange rate at time of payment. My advice to those that are looking to buy one, due to the way international shipping is it will be based around volume. They don't care on weight to much, so best see if there any other parts you want at the same time like service items, interior / exterior parts.

Hopefully this will help some out there, apologies to those that have spat their drinks out at their monitors or those crying with laughter at the price lol But if you are going new then any of the lower 3 on the list are easily obtainable within a reasonable time scale.

I'm going to be brutally honest the complexity in making a good mould for one in any of the above shapes would take a good bodywork / fabricator the best part of a few weeks to make in itself, then adding the right amount of FG layers is another thing to keep some sort of rigidity in the thing, I think labour costs would be the deal breaker.

I think for those that want the ease at which the top can be dropped this won't be for them, but this is more for those who try to use their car most of the year, track car or keep it outside in all weathers. I think for most a replacement sof top from the guy down swansea at £300 ish fitted is what most would go for but the more adventurous like one of the Daves fit the new top themselves.

Yes the Ade Reid one is stupidly good best of both worlds that one.

Where they can be purchased from and pricing. I'm in New Zealand so would have to take care of the shipping side of things.

    Thanks
