    Update on recommissioning '91 Beat

After buying a Beat that was last on the road 8 years ago.... its now a runner...

    It had a few issues....

Fuel gauge not working, window switched not working, roof not good,

But after some work. its passed the MOT

Window switch works now, took apart and cleaned
used Dynax 50 on the box sections at rear to protect against rust after checking they where solid to start with
    Fuel gauge came to life
Heater control knobs on order from Honda
Horn has packed in.... not sure why yet
    AC still needs fixing
Timing Belt likely get done by Honda £225 fitted, but 3 months back order on belt) includes belt and gasket) (don't fancy working in such a small space myself)

Standard radio seems to have a lot of interference... think its seen too much water in storage (anyone got a standard one about ??)
Also still need an ashtray but may have found a steering wheel
New wheels and tyres on order (will keep originals)
Looking at quotes for new roof.... does anyone know about the mohair with glass rear window ??? (any pics ?? )

Hope to meet other UK owners at some point ... anyone on here in the North West ? / North ? perhaps a meet up of Beat owners at Blackpool for the illuminations ?

New pics when new wheels arrive

I replaced my hood because it was knackered. Bought one with the glass rear window. I'll try and find the receipt and give you the details.

It has to be unzipped and then it can be folded.

I'm fitting it again this week after removing it for a full car respray so will take photos.

Old thread with pictures of my new roof fitted.

Just search for new soft top if the link doesnt work and it'll show up.

Yes I was and still am very happy with the soft top. I would highly recommend this one.
