    Head off, Pistons out, need some technical data -

    Hey all, about to swap out the rings on my little red car.

    need to know the following -

    Ring gap size
    Head bolt tightening torque and sequence
    Conrod bolt tightening torque

    anything surprises i should be aware of also? i've rebuilt many engines over the years but nothing this as quirky as the E07A!

    Ring gap size is:
    top = 0.15 to 0.3mm. The up and down tolerance of the top ring in the piston groove is 0.035 to 0.060mm, with a service tolerance of 0.13mm
    second = 0.3 to 0.45mm
    oil = 0.2 to 0.5mm
    Service limit on each is 0.6mm

    Head bolt tightening torque is 6.2 - 6.8kg-m. Oil the threads first.

    Cylinder head sequence, if you have the camshaft pulley on your right, and they are numbered 1 to 8 from top left to right and then bottom left to right, is 3 6 2 4 1 8 4 5
    Note that when you take it off it is 8 1 5 4 6 3 7 2

    Conrod cap torque is 3.2kg-m

    Hope this helps,

    If you mean the 10mm bolts which clamp the crankshaft down, they are 4.8kg-m.
