Chassis numbers. Also, who has the oldest car?

Was just looking under the bonnets of my Beats the other day, and noticed the chassis numbers. My yellow car is pp1 - 1010029 or something like that. Does that mean it's car number 10029 or number 29?

according to the parts catalogue beat chassis number designations are 1000001 - 1100000 (that's designated, not number made) so i'd guess yours is 10029

that said mine is 1012261 so jury is out on whether they all start 101.....

    what year is it?

A list i have shows chassis nos starting 110...then 5 digits which presumably is the build number?
lowest i can see is 11000808, J2** JCU and there are a few in the 30000's but Reg Nos. all seem to be H, J or K regardless of chassis no.

I expect that date of construction does not equal date of first registration. I think the Beat had high production in the first year and I think I read somewhere that sales after the first year were a bit slow. This probably means that some of them were sat around a while before they were sold, hence the date of first registration could be a year or two later than construction. BTW my present Beat is in the 6000s, and my first one was in the 3000s.
