    New member from France

Hi, my name in Nigel , i m english and live in france.

I have just unearthed a silver honda beat in france (uk reg)

it was featured in "kit and specialist cars international" september 99 edition. A copy came with the vehicle.

At the time a company K-Cars were selling imported vehicles from japan.

The v5 gives chassis no pp1-1019741.

The car is complete, but is missing the back exhaust box, the roof is tatty, the guy i bought it from said the fuel pump was knacked, but the engine turned over freely.

I have both sets of keys and the immobilisers, so now just need guidence on how to get the bits and restore her.

is the fuel pump car specific or was it used on lots of cars (in tank) i believe. is it a ball ache to do

The price of aftermarket back boxes made me nearly not buy the car, but i read somewhere you can get them from honda??

Workshop manel is also something i will need (pdf??)

I will post photos once im accepted.

    Many thanks in advance

how much of the exhaust do you need? there's a catalyst on ebay currently. and as mentioned in the other thread you could get somewhere to make you a custom system for not much!

Hi, I have a back box that is in fairly decent condition. It has surface rust but is solid and has no holes. I bought a stainless exhaust last summer, that is the reason why I replaced it.

I have given first refusal to Alfred because he asked a while back. I have just messaged him.

    Hello Nigel

I went to see this Beat during autumn 2014. Owner was member "JSL". "old'uns" is right, there was an advert in the forum that staid long. That's why I went to see the car. The advert was 3 years old. Someone from Gemany went to see this car

As said "old'uns", no way to register a Beat in France. Not homologated in any european country, so it is costly and difficult. And not for a question of LHD/RHD, but, as says "old'uns". too.
Only one succeed, for crazy amount of time and money. You have to realize test like a new car in Monthléry, at the UTAC. Which means also go and return to Monthléry on a trailer. And for all the non stamped parts (mirror, light...) ask for a derogation. Crazy, but like that. People do that for pricier japanese car like Skyline R/32/33/34 but not for a nice Beat. And it is much easier to homologate a Capuccino (no test required, no trip to Monthléry) for exemple, which was sold in UK through Suzuki dealer.
Regarding Carte grise de collection, why not. But can't be the same in 2022...

There are around 10 Beat in France, and 2 in the south west. But none of them are running, because they are not registered.
Parts can be order through Honda Dealer, but Honda is not a major player in France, and dealer are rare!

Hi bref, yes you mentioned this on Facebook. Price I paid was in euros, and less than half of what you mention. I have registered many cars over my 14 years here. Many lotus, jzr three wheelers, Porsche Rsk replicas to mention a few. I wont even bother with the beat, just take it back on my trailer and put an mot on it and run on uk plates untill brexit! The joy of being English! If we are still in France after that I will put it on voiture collection in 2021.
Do you know of anyone braking any out here in France? A bientot

    Hi

I registered some...but Beat is a problem. Best solution is a trip to UK to register it.

No Beat for parts in France. 3 in the Swiss border, owner can be contacted through "Forum Honda Classic". Philippe Lalanne is one of theme, has a nice one. A bientôt

Any word from Alfred? Mamook. Got my skimmed discs back on the front, just waiting for the pads, and battery. After that, an exhaust, cambelt and fuel pump and we should god willing see this old girl back on the road
