    New ECU

    Hi guys -

    ECU has died - anyone know how to get a replacement ?????

    or is refurbishing it an option ?

    Any advice please !

    Hi, there are tons of threads about refurbing these. It is common for the capacitors to blow and leak over the circuit board. Replacing the capacitors and repairing the board usually does the trick. There are firms that can do this too. Try this before ordering one up (which is about £1000)!

    I bought new caps from an electronics shop at about 20p each and took it to the computer repairs place next door who cleaned and soldered the board. All in cost me about £40 and repaired the ecu.

    I have a pic of the caps you need if want to try this route first
