Any info on skimming the head?

Picked my head up from the shop today after having new guides and the new valves let in, saw the shop had marked the head face :-( Had a moan and the guy said he would reface the head of a few thou for no cost. Anyone knocked any metal of a Beat head before, and how much could come off?

Honda Cylinder head skimming is all about the total thickness of the head.

I can find the Standard head thickness in the Shop Manual, but can't seem to see the skimming tolerance.

I will ask my Japanese colleague to translate a piece for me and let you know.

Maximum amount of allowable warpage is 0.05mm. if more then skim (measured with straight edge and feeler blade accross face surface)

    Nominal Head Height is 94.25mm - 94.35mm

So skim to keep with in tolerance (Maximum allowable 0.1mm)
