    Running distributor-less

I'm not sure if this has been done before, but I was looking to engine management systems for the Beat and ran into AEM's EMS system

    http://www.aemelectronics.com/engine...ent-system-30/

I came across a Coil-On-Plug system that is meant to replace the whole distributor system

    http://www.aemelectronics.com/coil-o...a-engines-1255

Not sure if it would work, and tuning may be an issue as I am not sure if the EMS would work with the Beat. It would be nice to no longer have a distributor to worry about

check out the Adaptronic http://adaptronic.com.au/ it's what I'm using on my AZ-1, if I had the spare cash I'd get one for the Beat as well. Set up properly it could run coil packs (with no dizzy) sequential fuel injection, and so much more... and it's self tuning!

HAve a look at the Megasquirt forums- the options are virtually limitless!! Folk here in the UK are selling the system pre-configured to your spec, or it's possible to buy it as a box of bits and build it yourself, if you're handy with a soldering iron!! Bon chance! Tim.

It looks inviting. What would you use for Engine Position Module.

I know they have one for the I4 Honda engines, but the EO7A is different. Machine/fab up an adapter?

I just found that the beat doesn't have identical pinouts for the obd1 connectors. The connectors fit in the AEM EMS, but some of the pins are in the wrong places.
I made a chart based on the pinouts of the AEM EMS, and from this very nice beat pinout http://honda-tech.com/showpost.php?p...5&postcount=63

Going to have to get an extension harness and re-wire some of the connections from the beat to the EMS
