... But I blew up the wiring in my Beat.

Didn't realise until tonight. I was trying to * ahem * hotwire my light up gear knob to the interior light and well ... sparky sparky.

Now (with the lights on) the left front light is stuck on dim (bit like me), the full beam light (on the instrument panel) is half lit, the instrument panel itself isn't lighting at all and I have no rear lights! The stereo forgets its settings and time and needless to say the interior light is gone too. Ooh and the gear Knob is fried also.

All day the car has been ideling at about 850 instead of the usual 1200.

I know I'm stupid but Steve please help!!! I really hope I just belw a fuse - what should I be looking for please?

I'm going to bring it to my electrician friend tomorrow so any pointers as what to look out for would be great.

I fell really stupid - dont try this @ home kids.

I propose we add another smiley - just for me.

That will be a WHOOPS then....

As steve says, the best thing is to check through all the fuses to make sure they are all ok... Hopefully it's going to be a nice simple fix...

I almost bought one of those light up gearknobs myself but couldn't find one I liked...

Hope it gets fixed soon
